Old ruins give me comfort. They remind me of the Roman fortress next to my parents vineyard in Bulgaria and my first art lessons, when capitals of columns were main subject to draw. Walking the streets of a city long gone gives me a sense of peace and perspective, with the reminder that nothing lasts.
